The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) has expressed optimism about attracting local/ foreign investors to the area councils across the country at the forthcoming special award ceremony to commemorate independence day celebrations.

They stated that investors would be better encouraged when each of the local governments takes to showcase their potential at the event slated for September this year.

‘’The exhibition will also enable us to showcase our unity, strength, products and address the need for fast-tracking and stimulating rural economic development based on heightened agricultural and agro-allied industrial activity at the third tier of Government’’, they said.

A consultant to ALGON on Nigeria @60 Jubilee special awards/exhibition, Ono Akpe, made this known to Journalist Monday at a media parley in Abuja.

Earlier, in his speech, the Minister of Industry Trade and Investment, Richard Adeniyi Adebayo, said the awards that come before the exhibition are designed to honour patriotic Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora that have made significant contributions and positive impact on all aspects of the economy and our national life.
