Nigerian airline, Air Peace Limited, has attributed Friday’s flight disruption that occurred in London, United Kingdom to a bird strike.
The spokesperson of Air Peace, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, disclosed this in a flight operations update, as the airline empathised with passengers.
“We wish to inform our esteemed passengers that our London (Gatwick) – Lagos service today experienced a bird strike,” Efe said.
The spokesperson explained that in line with standard safety protocols, the affected aircraft has been grounded for comprehensive inspection and necessary checks by the airline’s engineering team in London.
Air Peace said it sincerely empathises with passengers affected by any inconvenience caused by this unforeseen incident and appreciate their patience.
The airline said that its next line of action will be communicated to affected passengers as it works diligently to minimise flight disruptions across its network.
Air Peace added that it remains unwavering in its commitment to the highest standards of safety and operational excellence, while it thanked passengers for their understanding.
