…Daily services between Lagos and Asaba, and Asaba and Abuja, are scheduled to resume on 20 November as Nigerians begin planning festive-season journeys
Valuejet is committed to keeping people connected to the places and people that matter to them, the airline will resume daily flights on its Lagos–Asaba and Asaba–Abuja routes from Friday, 20 November 2026, giving travellers more options as families begin making plans for the Christmas holidays.
For many Nigerians, the end of the year brings the anticipation of familiar faces, family traditions and time spent with loved ones. It is a season when people make arrangements to leave busy cities behind, return to their hometowns and reconnect with those they may have spent much of the year away from.
For people with family ties in Asaba, the return of these services offers another way to make that journey.
With the festive period approaching, travellers are beginning to balance work commitments, travel costs and family plans.
The availability of daily flights on both routes gives passengers travelling between Lagos, Asaba and Abuja another option to consider as they organise their end-of-year movements.
Speaking on the resumption, Omololu Majekodunmi, Managing Director of ValueJet, said the airline recognised the importance of maintaining connections that bring people closer to family and friends during the season.
“The end of the year is a time to reconnect with family and friends. We want to make it easier for travellers to plan their journeys to Southern Nigeria and spend the festive season with the people who matter to them,” he said.
The Lagos–Asaba route links Nigeria’s commercial centre with the Delta State capital, while the Asaba–Abuja service provides a direct flight option between Asaba and the Federal Capital Territory.
The resumption also comes as ValueJet continues to expand its robust domestic network, which already services destinations including Port Harcourt, Jos, Owerri, Calabar, Benin, and GWI-Iperu alongside its growing regional portfolio.
The airline currently operates regional services to Accra, Banjul, Cotonou, and Malabo, with further expansion to Libreville, Monrovia, and Abidjan planned. Recent fleet additions, including Boeing 737NG aircraft, form part of its growing operational capacity to support this expansion.
For many travellers, the festive season is a chance to reunite with loved ones, revive family traditions and enjoy the comfort of being home after a long year. Passengers can check flight availability and make bookings through ValueJet’s official booking channels.
