Bank to support creative industry with N5bn
Heritage Bank Plc has set aside N5 billion as support to grow the entertainment and creative industry.
The bank has also given out N1million to Damilola Adeyemi, a winner of an online competition to celebrate its ‘Ynspyre’ and ambassador, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo (D’banj).
The Managing Director of the bank, Ifie Sekibo, who affirmed the bank’s commitment to the development and growth of the creative industry, described the sector as a major channel to tackling unemployment in the country.
Speaking during the presentation of a cheque, Sekibo said every sector of the economy must be involved in the development and growth of the entertainment industry, noting that the banking sector cannot do it alone.
The bank, in a statement signed by the Divisional Head, Corporate Communications, Fela Ibidapo, assured that the entertainment industry would be repositioned with the bank’s Ynspyre platform.
“We are hoping to start with this and it will grow to another level. You will see greater things in a couple of months,” the CEO said.
