Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited has announced plans to raise up to ₦150 billion through a commercial paper issuance to finance cocoa procurement for the 2026/27 season.
The company said the proposed issuance would be made under its approved ₦500 billion Commercial Paper Issuance Programme, providing short-term working capital for cocoa purchases at origin and supporting its international trading commitments.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Sunbeth said the funds would also support cocoa inventory procurement for its 70,000-metric-tonne-per-annum processing facility, scheduled to commence operations in March 2027.
With the new cocoa season underway, the company said the proposed fundraising would help ensure timely purchases and adequate inventory for export and processing requirements.
Sunbeth said approval of the ₦500 billion programme had established a framework for accessing Nigeria’s domestic debt capital market to meet its working capital needs.
The company also highlighted its repayment record, noting that it had redeemed its debut commercial paper series on schedule.
The proposed issuance will comprise three series with tenors of 180, 270 and 364 days. The commercial paper will be issued in tranches, with their timing and size determined by cocoa procurement requirements and prevailing market conditions.
Sunbeth maintains national-scale credit ratings from established African rating agencies, with long-term ratings ranging from BBB to BBB+ and a short-term rating of A2.
Chapel Hill Denham Advisory Limited is acting as lead arranger for the transaction. Further details of the individual commercial paper series will be announced in due course.
