First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has commissioned a new branch in Sangotedo, Lagos, with customers expressing hope for the bank’s impact on the community’s economic growth.
The Ogudu Oshadi I of Ogombo Kingdom, Oba Abiodun Ogunbo, represented by the Aro of Ogombo Kingdom, Lukman Lawal, warmly welcomed FCMB to the community.
He stressed the need for banking services for the residents and businesses, commending the bank’s track record of supporting individuals and enterprises.
He was optimistic that the new branch would create new opportunities and boost economic activities in the area.
The Olu of Sangotedo Kingdom, Oba Mohammed Olufunmi, represented by Otunba Tunde Johnson, also expressed appreciation for the branch opening.
He encouraged FCMB to deepen its presence in the community, citing the rapid development in the area as a compelling reason for expanded banking services.
The Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, John Ogundare, stressed the importance of FCMB’s new branch, saying it marked “a significant milestone for Sangotedo and the entire Eti-Osa”.
He described the branch’s opening as a “testament to the growth and potential of our community” even as he hoped it would grow to be a pillar of the community.
Ogundare urged the bank to actively support small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) in the area, recognising them as economic development catalysts.

She said the bank would grow with the community, promising flexible financing for businesses and committing to bringing more people into the formal economy.
Represented by the Bank’s National Head of Sales, Emmanuel Comla, the chief executive highlighted Sangotedo’s strategic location, noting its proximity to major infrastructure, including the Lekki–Epe corridor, Dangote Refinery and Deep-Sea Port.
Group Head of Operations and International Trade Services at FCMB, Ademola Idowu, also highlighted the bank’s commitment to delivering excellent and sustainable services.
