Firm launches zero-interest credit scheme

Financial technology and wealth management platform Rank has unveiled three new community-powered financial products aimed at expanding access to zero-interest capital for young Africans, following more than $100 million in payouts to users in the past year.

The new offerings – Money Circles, Tribe and Rank Perks – are designed to leverage trusted social networks and digital technology to provide alternatives to conventional bank loans and high-interest digital lending platforms.

The company said the products address one of the biggest challenges facing young professionals and entrepreneurs across Africa, where access to affordable credit remains limited due to stringent collateral requirements imposed by traditional financial institutions.

According to Rank, many loan applicants are unable to meet collateral demands, leaving them dependent on expensive digital lenders or salary advances from employers.

The platform said its latest products build on traditional African cooperative savings models while integrating digital verification, security and transparency to reduce risks and improve accessibility.

Speaking on the launch, Rank’s Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Femi Iromini, said the products were inspired by long-standing African communal financial practices.

“For generations, Africans have relied on communal financial structures to build wealth and acquire assets. We are bringing these trusted traditions into the modern age by layering cutting-edge technology, solving structural trust issues and turning collective financial habits into a modern, institutional-grade engine for generational wealth,” he said.
