LCCI targets bulk deals as trade fair enters 40th edition

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is repositioning the Lagos International Trade Fair to drive bulk merchandise transactions and deepen business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) deals.

The initiative, which is part of activities marking the 40th edition of the fair, will include a dedicated B2B and B2G room designed to connect exhibitors with bulk buyers and facilitate commercial transactions.

Vice President and Chair, LCCI Trade Promotion Board, Layo Bakare-Okeowo, disclosed this at a press conference ahead of the 2026 Lagos International Trade Fair, scheduled to hold from November 6 to 15 at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

Bakare-Okeowo said the chamber had been reaching out to bulk buyers to connect them with exhibitors, build business relationships and facilitate transactions.

She identified Compass Global Business and Services, led by its Managing Director, Tokunbo Chiedu, as the partner managing the B2B and B2G room.

The fair is expected to attract exhibitors and visitors from at least 20 countries, while LCCI is targeting more than 1,000 exhibitors.

According to her, the 2026 edition will also feature a Tech Hub, Africa Hall, which will promote intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), a children’s corner and an Entertainment Village.

The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) Managing Director, Takashi Oku, said Japan would participate in the fair with about 30 companies expected at its pavilion.

Leadway Assurance Executive Director, Retail and Partnership, Kikelomo Fischer, said the company had developed affordable insurance products for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to make insurance more accessible and easier to understand.

Business Manager, DCS Integrated Media, Norah Okparah, said the expo would bring together manufacturers, printers, publishers, packaging companies and technology providers to explore business opportunities.

She said participants would also examine developments affecting the sector, including digitalisation, changing consumer behaviour and sustainability.
