The Benin Area office of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has rewarded the Rubber Estate Nigeria Limited (RENL) on its investment in the training of its personnel for optimum performance and urged other companies to emulate this.

The Acting Area Manager, Benin Area Office of ITF, Bamidele Oloje, stated this when he led management team of the Fund to present the award to RENL in Osse River, Ovia South West Council, where he said ITF has paid N8,801,503.01 to the company as its 50 per cent reimbursement claim for the year 2020.

In his response, the Managing Director of RENL, Olivier Odoukou, said human capacity development was key in “today’s competitive business landscape.”

Represented by the Executive Director, Finance, Emmanuel Abana, he said continuous training and upgrading of skills at all levels of the company is, therefore, the key to achieving a meaningful competitive advantage and long-term business success.

“We provide our employees both operational and leadership training within and outside Nigeria to expose them to best practices and improve knowledge transfer at international level. RENL operates in the agricultural sector. We plant, harvest, process and export natural rubber with a current workforce of 2,382.

“To perform these activities, we employ and train competent employees to achieve our objectives, which are beneficial to all stakeholders, including the employees.

“We organise in-plant training for our employees and ITF has been a very good partner on this as our employees have benefited immensely from your wealth of experience. We have also benefited from your open training. We urge you to sustain this partnership with us,” he added.
