Lagos begins upgrade of business suite to enhance e-governance
Lagos State Government (LASG) has reiterated the adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) as a way of increasing efficiency.
Speaking at the Stakeholders Engagement Workshop for LASG Systems upgrade projects organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Sam Egube, said the state would continue to introduce ICT-based initiatives and reforms.
He noted that ICTs allow citizens and businesses to interact with the government; ease the dissemination of information and support commercial relationships with private sector organisations.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, Olayinka Fashola, disclosed that upgrading becomes necessary to improve service delivery.
Fashola said the state is embarking on the upgrading of the existing modules to the latest version while introducing additional modules.
