The management of Lekki Port, promoters of the Lekki Deep Seaport, has pledged cooperation with the new leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) at the Lagos Free Trade Zone Command.
Managing Director of Lekki Port, Wang Qiang, gave the assurance while welcoming the newly deployed Customs Area Controller, Hauwa Abubakar, to the port.
He said the company would work closely with the NCS to help it deliver on its mandate and ensure that the port achieves significant revenue growth and profitability.
Qiang described Abubakar’s redeployment to Lekki Port as a reward for hard work and exceptional performance during her previous posting, noting her sterling contributions to the operational excellence of the agency.
“On behalf of the management of Lekki Port, we commend the Comptroller and her team for taking the bold step of appointing a thoroughbred professional to this exalted office. She has earned this position through her professional achievements. We wish her well and assure her of our full support. We are also pleased that she is succeeding another competent professional,” Qiang said.
In her response, Abubakar described Lekki Port as a source of pride not only to Nigeria’s maritime industry but also to the West African market, given the vast opportunities it presents.
She assured the management of Lekki Port that the NCS was ready to provide the necessary support to unlock the port’s full potential and drive sustained revenue growth.
