Organisational Learning and Development Network (OLxD) has urged organisations to build learning systems that can adapt to environments where priorities, roles, technology and capability requirements can change very quickly.

The organisation gave the urge ahead of the fourth edition of its annual conference, #OLxDCon26, on Friday, November 6, 2026, in Lagos, with the theme, ‘Driving Sustainable Learning in Unstable Business Environments.’

Speaking about the conference, OLxD Convener, Ademola Johnson, said the 2026 edition represents an important stage in the evolution of the platform.

Johnson said: “The conversation is no longer simply about delivering more training. Organisations are operating in environments where priorities, roles, technology and capability requirements can change very quickly. The question is how we build learning systems that can adapt to these realities while remaining connected to performance and business priorities. OLxDCon26 is designed to bring the different perspectives needed to have that conversation.”

The keynote session will be delivered by Dr Lucy Surhyel Newman, Chairperson, Advisory and Executive Boards, Africa Private Sector Summit, APSS, on ‘Driving Business Sustainability Through Learning in Times of Instability.’

For the first time since the conference was launched, OLxDCon26 will operate as a paid conference as part of efforts to build a sustainable platform and continue improving the quality of the experience.

The conference has also moved from its previous weekend format to a weekday, reinforcing OLxD’s goal of positioning participation as a professional development investment that organisations can formally support for their employees.
