Verve, a payment card and token brand, has renewed its collaboration with Google Play for Africa’s Biggest Fitness Party, VerveLife 9.0, themed ‘Ignite’, extending a collaboration that brings together digital experiences, fitness, entertainment and lifestyle across Nigeria.
Now in its ninth season, VerveLife is taking its fitness and lifestyle experience to communities across the country, with stops in Ikorodu, Ibadan, Enugu, Surulere and Uyo, ahead of the grand finale at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Saturday, November 21, 2026.
Commenting on the renewed partnership, Executive Vice President, Group Marketing and Communications, Interswitch Group, Cherry Eromosele, said the collaboration reflects Verve’s approach to building experiences that connect with consumers beyond the traditional payment environment.
“VerveLife has continued to evolve, bringing together fitness, entertainment, lifestyle and community in ways that resonate with our growing audience. Renewing our partnership with Google Play allows us to further extend that experience into the digital space, giving participants more opportunities to engage, discover and enjoy the VerveLife journey. As the energy and excitement continues to spread across Nigeria, we look forward to creating experiences that reflect the energy and diversity of the Verve community,” she said.
For Google Play, the collaboration provides an opportunity to extend its engagement with Nigerian consumers through one of the country’s established fitness and lifestyle platforms.
The collaboration also builds on the brands’ existing relationship, which enables Nigerian consumers to use Verve cards for eligible purchases on Google Play.
VerveLife 9.0 kicked off in Ikorodu on Saturday, August 15 and has since moved through Ibadan and Enugu, with upcoming stops in Surulere and Uyo before the Lagos finale on November 21.
The Lagos grand finale will bring together fitness enthusiasts, families and lifestyle communities for a full day exhilarating blend of fun and good music. Also featuring high-energy workouts, an obstacle course and appearances by top fitness personalities and trainers from around the African continent. The day will culminate in an exclusive evening after-party, reflecting VerveLife’s growth from a fitness event into a broader lifestyle platform.
The 2026 edition is also creating additional opportunities within the fitness community through the ‘Road to VerveLife 9 Stage’ competition. The initiative gives fitness trainers, dance instructors, aerobics coaches, yoga and Pilates instructors, and other fitness enthusiasts the opportunity to earn a place on the VerveLife stage.
An enlightening ‘Train the Trainer’ programme will also take place ahead of the Lagos finale on November 20, extending the platform’s engagement with empowering fitness professionals and practitioners.
