WIMBIZ proffers post-covid solutions
Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) has held its 19th annual conference titled ‘The Shift: Recalibrate’ to highlight the impact of the Covid-19 disruption.
The deliberations were tailored to proffer practical solutions that have become necessary in the post-pandemic reality. The conference also encouraged women to rebuild, recalibrate, and embrace the shift.
Chairperson, Executive Council, WIMBIZ, Ngover Ihyembe-Nwankwo acknowledged the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on WIMBIZ and shared strategies that were deployed to cushion its effect.
She stated: “The goal of the conference was to motivate, strengthen and empower our delegates with knowledge and tools to embrace the post-pandemic realities and come through stronger.”
Delivering the Executive Director’s Report, Executive Director, Hansatu Adegbite, noted some of the milestones the organisation has recorded in the year, including the addition of 119 new associates, the induction of pioneer mentees of the WIMBIZ Women on Boards (WIMBOARD) Mentoring Programme, and the hosting of the online conference.
The 19th annual conference convened a diverse panel of speakers who facilitated robust discussions on diverse topics such as ‘leading from the heart: creating a culture of empathy & authenticity’ and ‘disruptive innovation: reposition for success’.
