ABB deploys micro grid solutions for industrial use

In its bid to make up for the limited power capacity in the country especially for commercial purposes, ABB, a pioneering technology company in power grids, electrification products and others, have deployed its latest technology in renewable energy to meet industrial and commercial requirements.
    
The company’s Country Managing Director, Nigeria, Hany Abd-Elazim, made this revelation in Lagos during the launch of Nigeria’s first Turbo Charging Service Workshop by ABB, Nigeria.  
      
He said the company’s latest technology in the renewable energy space was in two parameters, the micro grid plug in solution and teniky solar power plant, which includes ABB’s service portfolio and solar application.
    
These technologies he said especially the micro grid plug in solution MGS100 which can be used for commercial, industrial and residential buildings were strategic to cover the gap between the generating capacity and the demand.
      
Reliable and affordable electricity supply is a critical element for industrial operations and economic growth, Abd-Elazim noted, hence frequent electricity cuts as well as below standard electricity supply translates to the usage of expensive diesel solution which increases most companies cost of access to power.
     
It is to this end that the company aligns progress with development to offer new technology for digitalisation in the renewable energy space to serve not only residential purposes, but commercial and industrial capacity too.

Commenting on the turbo charging service workshop, Abd-Elazim remarked that as the economic hub of the continent, it was necessary to open such facility here to save time and cost because hitherto now, the nearest place for turbo chargers repairs and servicing was Douala, Senegal.
