Total Nigeria Plc reassures customers on pump accuracy

Torres, who gave the assurance in Lagos, during the company’s Top Service Week at the Onigbagbo Service Station, Ikeja, said the oil marketing company was strict and conscious about issues of under-dispensing in all its service stations.

Sharp practices including under-dispensing is a common occurrence among many retail outlets in Nigeria, to the effect that customers are short-changed on product volumes while paying higher for the quantity.

But Torres insisted that Total has a system in place to control both the start and delivery levels at each pump, hence customers should be confident about what is dispensed to them. “We can assure customers that they are getting the right quantity of what they have paid for.”

He also reiterated that Total, the only multinational still operating in Nigeria’s downstream sub-sector, has gone into partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), to sponsor the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Gabon, as well as other football tournaments for the next eight years.

Speaking on the partnership, the General Manager Sales and Marketing Total Nigeria, Adesua Adewole, remarked that although there is a defined budget for Africa on the project and Nigeria has her allocation, but could not reveal how much the deal was worth.

Adewole also disclosed that the company would soon launch its Business to Customer Card (B to C customer card), which would assist Total customers to manage their fuel and service expenditure in these hard times.

“To give back to our customers, there are various promotions in which 14 winners from some of these promos would be sponsored to Gabon for the semi and final games,” she added.

Also, customers’ feedback from the Top Service Week interaction, she said, was reassuring even though there are still vacuums to fill towards better services at the right time and the right quantity.
