Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State and the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIBN), have agreed to work together and forge a partnership that would give birth to a new breed of well trained, focused and professional bankers for the national and international markets.

This was the thrust of the discussion between the two institutions after an accreditation visit by a team from the regulatory body of bankers led by Prof. Wole Adewunmi.

They agreed to forge a working relationship that would orientate budding bankers on best global practices right from their undergraduate days and culminate in further delivering final professional trainings to them at the professional CIBN level.

The vice chancellor, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, had assured the team that the university always welcomes accreditation visits as a way of guaranteeing quality graduates from institutions.

He said the university management has always prioritised accreditation and inspection of its training facilities because of its staunch belief in churning out quality products.

Prof. Adewunmi outlined the roles of CIBN in ensuring quality bankers that would positively impact on the nation’ economy.

He also explained that they were in AAUA to inspect the qualitative and quantitative levels of the manpower and training facilities of the Department of Banking and Finance and also take a look at related Departments like Economics and Accounting.

He commended AAUA for turning out quality graduates that have become high flyers in the banking industry.

He also pledged the commitment of the body to partner with the university in ensuring quality and professionalism.
