Attend classes, shun deviant behaviours, Provost urges freshmen

Provost, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) Ijanikin, Lagos, Prof. Bilikis Lafiaji-Okuneye, has advised the newly admitted students of the college to focus on their studies and stay away from nefarious activities.

Doing so she said, would not only guarantee them academic success, but would also ensure peaceful and timely completion of their various programmes.

The provost who acquainted the freshmen with the fundamental principles, norms and culture of the institution, cautioned that the college would not take lightly any form of misdemeanor or acts capable of putting the image of the college in bad light.

She said: “As fresh students, it is expected that you will abide by all the rules and regulations of this great institution and participate in all activities of the college. You must be fully committed to your studies, make efficient use of the library, and justify your admission out of the thousands who wanted to come and study in this noble institution. My dear students, it is a new dawn for all of you, and by the grace of God, in about three year’s time, we will be gathered again for your convocation ceremony.

“I therefore charge you to make the most of the opportunity afforded you by your parents/guardians, ensure that you attend classes, shun all forms of deviant behaviours, other vices and cultism. You are therefore expected to exhibit high sense of discipline in the college. The college will not award its certificate to students who are found wanting in character and learning. The college encourages students to dress according to acceptable standards.
