The Borno State Government yesterday announced the outbreak of cholera, saying the disease has eight people, while six others have died from Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD).
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Haruna Mshelia, who disclosed this yesterday at the Emergency Operation Centre in Maiduguri, said the official declaration of the cholera outbreak became inevitable to enable the state, partners and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to respond to the development in 13 council areas.
