Four students of the Bridge House College, Ikoyi, Lagos have bagged the 2019 Outstanding Cambridge International Learners’ Awards in the AS & A’ Level results.

The school’s authorities regard the awards as a reaffirmation of the culture of excellence and hard work for which Bridge House College is reputed for over the years, it said in a statement announcing the awards.

The primary purpose of these awards is to celebrate and recognise the success of high-performing Cambridge learners and the partner schools that have exemplified Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Child Protection policies, the school added.

“Congratulations to the award winners David Neye Okorogheye and Stefanie Chinasa Iheasirim who emerged the overall best in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics respectively in Nigeria. Apart from the emerging top in Nigeria in Physics, Iheasirim also won the High Achievement Award in Economics, while two other students of the institution, Taiwo Olakunbi Dawodu, and Oghenekevwe Favour Omonode each won the High Achievement Award in Psychology,” the statement said.

Iheasirim Stefanie, one of the awardees, said: “I’ll like to thank CAIE for presenting me with these awards, it feels wonderful to have my hard work recognised and I’m grateful to my experienced teachers at Bridge House College for aiding my success.”

Stefanie said the honour means a lot to her because it’s a result she worked hard towards.

David, for his part, said the award would spur him to aim for greater heights in life.

“I express my gratitude to the Bridge House College for the (N9m) scholarship presented for me to undergo the Advanced Level education, my gratitude also goes to my parents and teachers for their unrelenting support throughout the course of the programme, and to Cambridge International Examination for their recognition in form of the outstanding learner’s award. I really do appreciate this recognition and I will draw inspiration from it to pursue success,” he said in an Instagram video on the school’s website.

The statement added: “The Management and Board of Bridge House College congratulate the high achievers and their parents. In addition to these Awards, the school will honour her students at the virtual 16th Annual Graduation and Prize Giving Day scheduled to hold on 30th July 2020. For us at Bridge House College, excellence is a culture we have maintained over the years and we will not relent in our mission to continue to be a global leader in the pursuit of knowledge for success.”

The statement said the Bridge House College is a response to the yearnings of parents for a bespoke Sixth Form Pre-University College offering qualitative Education of International standards in a safe and serene environment. It is a co-educational College which gives students the opportunity to study and gain admission into top universities of their choice, locally and internationally.
