Enugu varsity appoints acting vice chancellor
The Governing Council of Peaceland University Enugu has announced the appointment of Rev. Fr. (Prof) Leonard Chidi Ilechukwu as its Acting Vice-Chancellor.
A spokesperson of the school Iloegbunam Okafor stated that Ilechukwu’s appointment which has taken effect was communicated in a letter by the registrar of the university, Dr. Patrick Ugwu.
He stated that Prof Ilechukwu would now superintend over all affairs of the institution, bringing in his wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure its smooth running.
Okafor said the young university has continued to reposition itself to enable it to compete in the global sphere, stressing that the new appointment was based on “Prof Ilechukwu’s exceptional intellectual and ecclesiastical pedigree which reflects the University’s confidence in his abilities to lead with distinction.
“As Acting Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Ilechukwu will play a pivotal role in advancing the University’s mission and vision, ensuring excellence in education, research, community, and rural engagement.
“Rev. Fr. Prof. Ilechukwu’s appointment resonates deeply with the University’s ethos, emphasizing service to God and humanity.
“His vast wealth of experience and commitment to excellence are expected to drive Peaceland University Enugu towards further accomplishments, fostering an environment of learning, innovation, and social responsibility.”
He said that already a cross-section of the management staff of the Peaceland University Enugu had extended their heartfelt congratulations to the new acting Vice Chancellor and looks forward to the inspiring leadership and transformative initiatives he would bring to the Peaceland University Enugu.
