Ex-NUC chief commends Oloyede over conduct of UTME
The President, Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi-Africa), Prof Peter Okebukola, has congratulated Prof Ishaq Oloyede, on the successful conduct of this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Okebukola, a former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), while reacting to the release of results of the 1.9 million candidates that sat for the examination, said the JAMB boss has once again, proven to the world that the agency, under his leadership, could bring respectability, transparency and credibility to the conduct of public examinations.
Okebukola noted that the number of candidates who sat the examination is more than the entire 2023 population of some African countries, including Guinea-Bisau, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritius, Eswatini and Djibouti.
He added that the exercise is also a testament to the administrative and technical capacity of the examination body, which Oloyede has expanded and strengthened since he assumed office. He added that the speedy release of results few hours after the conclusion of the examination, was commendable.
