Firm remodels Sofoluwe Park in UNILAG

Unilag

A financial institution, Alpha Morgan Capital, has remodelled the Adetokunbo Sofoluwe Park at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). Professor Adetokunbo Sofoluwe was a former vice chancellor of the school.

Managing Director of the firm, Mr Ade Buraimo, said the move was part of the firm’s resolve to give back to the people, while also making money in return.

Buraimo assured the university that the organisation would continue to support the school, even after the tenure of the outgoing vice chancellor, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe.

“We have contracted people to work at the park to keep it clean without intervention and have put money down to run it for the next five years and nothing is going to change it. They will do it morning, afternoon and night for the park to be better, up and running.”

Prof Ogundipe, while speaking at the unveiling, said the park is a unique one in the university. He described Sofoluwe as a unique vice chancellor, adding that the park will be a unique spot for interaction for students, visitors and members of staffs.

Ogundipe thanked Alpha Morgan Capital for its efforts; saying the park has become a historical place with historical values.

The outgoing VC also inaugurated the remodelled university library, saying the school is equipped with necessary facilities that will make its students compete globally.
