
A new date for school resumption is now in sight as the Kano State government has finally lifted its indefinite postponement of pupils’ return for the first term academic session.
Subsequently, the state has approved Sunday, September 15, 2024, as the new resumption date for all boarding public and private primary and post-primary schools in the state for the commencement of the 2024/2025 academic session.
Additionally, pupils and students in day schools across the state will resume on Monday, September 16, 2024.
Although no reason was attributed to the decision, the new date for school resumption is now in sight as the Kano State government has finally lifted its indefinite postponement of pupils’, announced the postponement of the school resumption date on Saturday, September 7.
A statement on Thursday by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the Ministry of Education, Balarabe Kiru, urged parents and guardians of students to take note of the new resumption date to ensure compliance.
It also advised students to avoid bringing any illegal items to school, such as knives or razors, and to obey the school rules and regulations.
The statement reiterated the commitment of the administration under the leadership of Alhaji Abba Yusuf to ensure that every child has access to quality education.
“The government is taking positive steps toward creating a conducive learning environment that will inspire and empower our students to excel academically,” the statement noted.
However, the statement urged the people of the state to continue cooperating with the ministry, assuring them that the government is taking all necessary steps to ensure an effective teaching and learning environment.
While wishing students, pupils, and their teachers a successful new academic year, the statement said the ministry would conduct routine monitoring to ensure staff punctuality and efficiency.
