Educationists have urged students and teachers to work hard to attain a brighter future and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Speaking at the mega reunion of Methodist High School Ibadan Old Boys Association (MHSIOBA), themed: ‘Education, innovation and possibilities for a better nation’, the pioneer principal, Gabriel Osinbowale, stressed the need for teachers and students to work hard and put in their best.
In the same vein, Mrs Adenike Adebisi, who is the current principal, urged young teachers to follow the footsteps of those who have done well by contributing their quota to the progress of the profession, charging them to discharge their duties with honesty and devote time to teaching future leaders.
The MHSIOBA president, Dr Olalekan Abioye, restated the association’s commitment to support the school and restore its lost glory.
Abioye said although the government has been doing its best to support the school, old students and the private sector must join in the task of lifting the sector.
A Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of education, Mrs Bukola Abimbola, assured of government’s continuous funding of the sector.
