GAC Motors pledges commitment to Nigerian creative industry

Chairman of CIG Group, Diana Chan, has reiterated commitment to supporting the creative industry in Nigeria, stating that the growth of the sector remained key to the firm.

Gives away new cars at AMVCA

Chairman of CIG Group, Diana Chan, has reiterated commitment to supporting the creative industry in Nigeria, stating that the growth of the sector remained key to the firm.
   
Presenting luxury cars to winners of the 2017 Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in Lagos, Chan said: “I am a Nigerian at heart and I have followed the growth of Nollywood over the years and I must say that I am very impressed with the progress of the industry. We at GAC Motors take it as a personal cause to support people like you who are creative and exceptional and we will continue to do so in every way we can.”

  
Chan said the organisation stand for excellence, innovation, creativity and style, stressing that the qualities were exhibited by talents in the Nigerian Creative Industry.
  
The dealer, a sole distributor and representative of leading Chinese automakers, GAC Motors in Nigeria gave the highest value of sponsorship by a single company to the meritorious award, which was keenly followed across Africa.
   
“We stand for excellence, innovation, creativity and style. These are qualities we have seen exhibited by talents in the Nigerian Creative Industry which informs our decision to sponsor. Thanks to our partnership with Multichoice DSTV, we found the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award a worthy-enough platform to support. This is the second time we are doing so and we have not regretted our decision,” Chan said.
  
The brand’s luxury SUV, GS4 and the classic sedan, GA3 were given to two outstanding actors Chika Okpala and Somkele Idhalama respectively.Okpala thanked GAC Motors for their kind gesture, adding that the award and car gift came as a total surprise.
    
Idhalama was also very ecstatic about her win. “I really want to thank brands like GAC Motors. “It’s not all the time that you can convince people to give. Despite the harsh economic conditions, they still decided to give the cars,” she said.
PR & Talent Lead at Africa Magic, Efosa Aiyevbomwan, commended the company for the sponsorship, saying: “This year, we are celebrating an existing legend and another legend in the making. I say a big thank you to GAC Motors for your kind support. Your contribution will not go unnoticed.”
