Jetour models participate in Lagos off-road challenge

Participants in the first Jetour Africa Expedition organised in Lagos by WMotors.

Jetour WMotors, the official distributor of Jetour vehicles in Nigeria, has taken its T1, T2 and G700 SUVs through a 128-kilometre adventure in Lagos as part of the 2026 Jetour Africa Expedition.

The Lagos leg of the pan-African lifestyle and adventure initiative combined city driving, lifestyle experiences and an intensive off-road challenge aimed at demonstrating the vehicles’ performance, durability, control and versatility under real-world conditions.

The expedition was held recently with eight units of the T1, T2 and G700 participating in the convoy.

The route took participants through some of Lagos’ major landmarks, including Lekki Market, Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, Freedom Park, National Theatre, Ahmadu Bello Way and Third Mainland Bridge, before culminating in an off-road challenge in Ikorodu.

The Ikorodu circuit provided the major test of the expedition, with the SUVs subjected to steep slopes, bumps, uneven surfaces and other challenging terrain designed to test their off-road credentials.

Speaking with journalists during the expedition, Managing Director of Jetour WMotors, Tony Jamal, said the initiative was designed to showcase the brand’s combination of performance, safety, luxury and adventure while highlighting Nigeria’s potential as a major automotive market.

Jamal explained that the Jetour Africa Expedition was being held across 12 African countries, with each participating market contributing its own experience to the continental campaign.

According to him, Nigeria’s participation also provided an opportunity to demonstrate to Jetour’s manufacturing base in China the growing importance of the Nigerian market.

“Jetour is all over Nigeria now. We have a big trust and we have to thank God that Jetour trusts us as the official distributor. The people appreciate our services and our cars come directly from the factory,” he said.

He said the Lagos route was deliberately designed to combine urban mobility with demanding driving conditions, allowing participants to experience different sides of the city while testing the vehicles.

Jamal described the off-road section as one of the highlights of the expedition, particularly for the four-wheel-drive models.

“We also showcased the capacity of Jetour, with the off-road experience of the 4×4 models. They have a 2.0 turbocharged engine with Euro 6, which is the most advanced engine, with low fuel consumption and high torque. It shows us what Jetour can do,” he said.

He also revealed plans to expand the expedition in 2027, with the next edition expected to attract participants from China and place greater emphasis on off-road driving.

He said Jetour WMotors offers a seven-year, unlimited-mileage warranty on its vehicles, supported by an after-sales package designed to give customers greater confidence in vehicle ownership.
