Honeywell Flour Mills Plc, in conjunction with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has rolled out safety campaign aimed at reducing accidents on the roads as the Yuletide season approaches.

Consequently, officials of the two organisations kick-started the effort at Owena Motor Park, Ojota, where drivers were enlightened on safe driving culture especially on the need to drive safely into the New Year.

Tagged: “Safe driving, safe arrival”, the initiative, according to the Managing Director, Honeywell Flour Mills, Lanre Jaiyeola, is to create awareness among road users, especially as the festive season fast approaches, to be very careful and mindful of other commuters on the road.

Represented by Head, Innovation and Corporate Communication, Lanre Da-Silva, He said: “We always partner with FRSC to ensure that people are safe at all times, especially during the Yuletide, to observe all the safety procedures required at this time.”

In his remarks, the Unit Commander of FRSC, Ojota, Innocent Etuk, assured residents that the commission had put in place measures to reduce crashes and improve response time.

“At every 50 kilometre on the road, there will be patrol vans with full complement of medical team that will ensure that our men get to any accident site and rescue the situation in less than five minutes,” he said.

Etuk advised motorists to avoid vices like drunk driving, over-speeding and disregard to general safety rules, adding saying the commission would start total clampdown on errant drivers as from December 1.
