Yoruba Community in Abuja has organised a special fidau prayer to commiserate with Minister of State for FCT, Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, over the death of her mother, Hajia Zainab Sidi-Ali, fondly called Gogo, who died on September 20, 2022.

The gathering had in attendance Yoruba Council of Obas in Abuja under the Chairmanship of Dr. Olusegun Salau, prominent Muslim scholars and leaders of the community.

Muslim clerics engaged in recitation of glorious Quran for more than two hours before the commencement of eighth Day Fidau Prayer.

The Secretary of Obas in Council, Dr. Elias Abiodun Nurudeen, said the FCT Minister is an embodiment of humility and unsurpassed lover of masses.

Abiodun said the Yoruba community in Abuja is not only commiserating but celebrating with the Minister for a life well spent by her late mother.

The Oba Yoruba of Zuba, Alhaji Murtala Odunbaku, prayed fervently for the deceased. While thanking the community for organising a surprise fidau prayer with special recitations of Glorious Quran, the Minister said Yoruba are rich in culture and values. She said anywhere, anytime Yoruba are people to associate with, because they are tolerant and accommodating even irrespective of religious inclination.

Damilola Elemo thanked the Minister for creating time out of her busy schedules to attend a Fidau prayer organised for her late mother, saying people in power should emulate the Minister. Damilola said when a leader is good, the followers will always be there even without being invited.

The National Chief Imam of Dawlatul Haqq Islamic Society, Sheikh Zakariya Ajijola Anabi, closed the fidau prayer with recitation of selected prayers from the Holy Quran.
