Government admits 147 to Gifted Academy, Suleja

A total of 147 out of 2, 250 candidates that applied for admission into the Federal Government Academy, Suleja, for the 2016/2017 academic year, have been granted admission.

A total of 147 out of 2, 250 candidates that applied for admission into the Federal Government Academy, Suleja, for the 2016/2017 academic year, have been granted admission.

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who approved the admission, in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by The Guardian, said the figure represents the number of candidates that were successful in the admission exercise. The statement was signed by Deputy Director, Press, Ben Bem Goong.

It read, “A total of 147 students have been admitted, out of the 2, 250 candidates who sat for the examination.” The added that the list has been released in the college and also posted on the ministry ‘s website, as well as in Room 607, in the Department of Basic and Secondary Education of the ministry.

The resumption date for the new students of the academy is October 8, 2016.

In the statement, the minister commended the management of the school for the impressive performance it has recorded in the past 26 years.

It would be recalled that the academy was established on May 25, 1990, and has maintained an average performance record of 92 per cent in the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations.
