EntrepreneurAS part of efforts to empower youths on sustainable human capital development, the Lagos Business School at its main campus on Victoria Island, on Wednesday held its inaugural entrepreneurship fair to educate Nigerians on how to establish and grow an everlasting business network.

The event, with the theme: ‘Transforming Society through Profitable Businesses,’ was an interactive forum aimed at exposing business men and women to the tenets of building a sustainable business empire. Speaking at the event, Managing Director of Gemstone, Fela Durotoye, who delivered the keynote address at the occasion, said establishing a viable business and sustaining it over time , would assist in providing employment to different generations .

Durotoye, however, urged entrepreneurs to think globally and keep themselves abreast of current business institutional models. This, he said, would create an enabling environment for business to thrive.

He also advised entrepreneurs not to relent in starting a business with small capital According to him: “When you start a business over time, you gain experience. For the society to develop, people need to be empowered.

This implies giving them the values and guidelines on how to create wealth. “When the entrepreneurship chain is broken, prosperity does not take place, which automatically brings poverty.”

The former Managing Director, Elumelu Foundation, Reid Whitlock, noted that in an international arena, entrepreneurship excels when much effort is put into it. He called on Nigerians who yearn to grow their own business not to relent on their effort, saying there are a lot of opportunities in Nigeria.

The Dean of Lagos Business School, Enase Okonedo, said “establishing a profitable business in Nigeria is an avenue to expose investors to new investment opportunities, which serve as a means of transforming lives in the society.
