Motor licensing office debuts at Oshodi

THE Lagos State Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), which was named the “Most Re-engineered-For –Service Agency in the federation for the year 2012 has again broken new grounds in vehicle administration in Nigeria. This time it has innovatively introduced a new user-friendly and a State –of –the art Service delivery centre called the MVAA One-stop-Centre.

According to the General Manager, MVAA Mr. Lateef Lawal, the centre was established to provide all the services and products of the agency from a single and highly efficient office, where a customer can start and complete all transactions relating to motor vehicle, driver products and other services before leaving the centre.

He said the office, which is located strategically at the Oshodi bus terminus for easy access, is the first of the MVAA One-Stop-Centre.
“The centre is first of its type in Nigeria and the entire West African sub-region.
“The State government plans to replicate similar One-Stop-Centre in each of the State’s five Divisions to reduce the heavy customer traffic at MVAA 49 vehicle licensing /18 driver’s card issuing centres that located across the state,” Lawal disclosed.

According to him, all MVAA partners in service delivery chain such as Courteville Business Solutions PLC, designated banks, FRSC, VIS, have their offices within the One-Stop-Centre to ensure that customers move seamlessly through various transaction stages.

He declared: “Customers and applicants can obtain registration forms, complete the forms, make payments, undergo driving tests, and have their data captured, renew their vehicle papers and undergo other screening requirements within the One-Stop-Centre.
“The services include issuance of vehicle/drivers license, number plates, hackney permit, registration of motor vehicle and spare parts dealers.”
