JNC International Limited (JNCI) has joined the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN)’s Health Guardians Initiative to support healthcare reform, infrastructure development and access to medical technology in Nigeria.

HFN announced this in a statement on Wednesday, saying the partnership would strengthen JNCI’s contribution to policy engagement and efforts to expand private-sector participation in healthcare.

The federation said the initiative brings together organisations to support improvements in the health system through technical expertise, policy advocacy and collaboration.

According to the statement, JNCI has supported HFN since its early years, contributing private-sector expertise to discussions on healthcare development. Its participation as a Health Guardian formalises that relationship.

HFN President, Njide Ndili, said the company’s experience in medical technology, infrastructure and service delivery would support the federation’s work.

“JNCI has been a valued partner of HFN for many years, and we are pleased to formalise this longstanding relationship through the Health Guardians Initiative. Their expertise in healthcare infrastructure, medical technology and service delivery brings valuable depth to our collective efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s health system. We look forward to deepening this partnership and working together to advance practical solutions that can improve the quality, accessibility and sustainability of healthcare in Nigeria.”

The statement said the company had worked with healthcare institutions across Nigeria and the wider region to upgrade facilities and deploy medical technologies.

It also cited JNCI’s partnership with Abbott and Afrimedical on the localisation of rapid diagnostic test manufacturing in Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen local production and reduce reliance on imported medical products.

JNCI said joining the initiative would allow it to contribute further to HFN’s policy discussions, partnerships and healthcare development programmes.

“This recognition builds on a longstanding partnership rooted in a shared commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system through innovation, expertise and meaningful private-sector collaboration. Beyond this milestone, we remain committed to advancing healthcare infrastructure, expanding access to medical technology and supporting better health outcomes.”

The partnership adds to HFN’s advocacy for a stronger private-sector role in healthcare. The federation had previously called for private-sector innovation to improve healthcare quality, affordability and access. HFN

In July, HFN signed an agreement with the American Business Council Nigeria to promote healthcare investment, with areas of collaboration including local manufacturing, diagnostics, supply chains and workforce training. guardian.ng

The federation also began discussions on private providers’ participation in the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund, following its appointment as the private-sector representative on the fund’s Ministerial Oversight Committee. guardian.ng

In a separate collaboration, the NCDC signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with HFN and PharmAccess to improve disease surveillance reporting by private healthcare facilities.
