Katsina receives medical equipment from World Medical Relief
ina State Government, on Thursday, received the first container of donated medical supplies from the World Medical Relief (WMR) in Detroit, United States of America (USA).
The Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Dikko Radda, Mr Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, said in a statement that the delivery was sequel to the Governor’s visit to the WMR headquarters in November 2023.
During the visit, the CPS said, the governor met with the President of the organisation, Mr. George V. Samson, and his team, where he conveyed his passion to ensure people of the state have access to high-quality healthcare.
He also informed the WMR’s President of the healthcare needs assessment results conducted by the state government immediately he assumed office.
“Gov. Radda secured a commitment for ten containers of essential medical equipment and supplies.
“It should be noted that an average container has equipment and supplies worth $1 million.
“Presently, two additional containers are on the way to the state from Lagos, while seven remain in transit on the high seas,” he said.
Additionally, Kaula-Mohammed said that the organisation relayed its commitment to help state source for state-of-the-art MRIs and CT scans, including installation and training for the technicians at a discounted rate.
He qouted Radda as describing the partnership with World Medical Relief as part of the administration’s commitment to reform healthcare delivery in the state.
“These medical supplies will significantly enhance our capacity to provide quality healthcare services to our citizens,” the CPS qouted the governor as saying.
Kaula-Mohammed revealed that the state government has equally implemented distribution plan to ensure those vital medical resources reach healthcare facilities efficiently
