NMA urges FG to prioritise healthcare for Nigerian children

The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Edo State Branch, on Wednesday called on government at all levels to prioritize the healthcare needs of children towards achieving a healthy lifestyle.

Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, Edo State Branch, Dr. Eustace Oseghale, made the call, saying government and society should commit to quality healthcare delivery that improves the health and well-being of children globally.

He said this year’s Children’s Day theme, “Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation,” is apt as it emphasizes the protection and care of children.

He said, “We must all stand up for our children in all areas of life, both health and education, and promote a society that celebrates children. Our commitment as healthcare providers is already achieving so much in this direction towards a better society for all.”

Oseghale noted that children are our future leaders, thinkers, and change-makers.

“Our children deserve the best opportunities to grow, thrive, and succeed. May God’s abundant blessings be upon them, and may our children be a source of joy and pride to all parents and our beloved nation as we contribute our quota as healthcare professionals to play our role in providing quality healthcare for all children.

“The Nigeria Medical Association, Edo State Branch, is eager to improve the care and well-being of children resident in Edo State and is willing to collaborate with both government and non-government agencies to achieve this,” Oseghale said.
