Chairman, Board of Directors of Pinnacle Communications Limited, Sir Lucky Omoluwa, has filed a N1billion libel suit against the spokesperson of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), Mrs Rashedat Okoduwa, for allegedly publicizing falsehood against his person.

Nnamonso Ekanem (SAN), filed the suit marked CV/578/20187 at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama on behalf of Omoluwa.

The plaintiff is praying the court to order Okoduwa to pay him the sum of N1billion damages.

He also urged the court for a declaration that the defendant’s publication on the website of the ICPC from November 15, 2018, under the caption “News Release”, which was read in Nigeria and beyond was libelous.

The claimant also sought an order of public apology, retraction and rebuttal of the libelous publication and statements on ICPC website and some national dailies.

In addition, Omoluwa asked for an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendant, her cronies, group of people, agency or anyone however called from further publishing or disseminating the libelous material or similar ones against the claimant forthwith.

No date has been fixed for hearing.
