Lagos State Government has emerged as the most responsive COVID-19 State Government of the Year at the Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award 2021.

The state’s Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, also emerged as winner of the Most Outstanding COVID-19 State Health Commissioner of the Year at the event.

Chairman, Advisory Board, NHEA 2021, Anthony Omolola, who spoke at the award event in Lagos with the theme, “Celebrating Our Healthcare Heroes,” commended the state government and the ministry of health on how they responded to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Abayomi, who represented the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, while receiving the awards, hailed all health workers in Lagos State, saying the awards were dedicated to all the healthcare practitioners who were committed to their work since the outbreak of the pandemic.
