LASPOTECH holds 27th convocation as rector urges students to be resilient

Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ijanikin recently held its 27th convocation at the Ikorodu Campus Lagos.
The rector, Mr Samuel Sogunro noted that graduation signifies a successful closure of a chapter in one’s life, and the re-opening of another.
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. As much as you can, be open to new experiences but never lose sight of your goals and embrace resilience.

“Your achievement now leaves you with a vital responsibility of being a change agent in our society. As you are aware, the economy of our country and indeed most countries of the world is knowledge-driven. You are not expected to rely solely on the government for jobs. Think of what you can do for Nigeria and not what Nigeria can do for you.
“Put your know-how into full use,  set your creativity free and be ready to go and create jobs in the private sector, using the spirit of ready-set-work.

Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who reaffirmed the state’s commitment to improving on the education sector through inclusive and sustainable policies also urged the graduands to use their talent for the development of the state and Nigeria.
He also offered a job opportunity to the overall best graduating student—Nkechi Alexandra Kingsley from the school of Engineering with CGPA of 3.93 on a scale of 4.0.
