Firm appoints new directors following court order

G. Cappa Plc., a foremost construction company in Nigeria has complied with the order of Justice T. G. Ringim, directing it to meet with its shareholders to appoint new directors.

G. Cappa Plc., a foremost construction company in Nigeria has complied with the order of Justice T. G. Ringim, directing it to meet with its shareholders to appoint new directors.

In compliance, the firm held an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in Lagos on September 19, 2024.

The order was made in the suit marked FHC/L/CS/67772013.

During the meeting, the company elected new directors which included Mr Tayo Oyetibo (SAN); Mr Chimezie Ihekweazu (SAN); Mr Dick D. Akpolagha; Mr Georges Bou Maroun; Mr Peter Adepeju; Mr Nonah Awoh and Mr Chadi Jawish.

Acting chairman of the EGM, Ihekweazu (SAN) confirmed that the EGM was in line and in compliance with the order of the court, which in his word was successfully conducted.

He noted that with the new directors, the process of rebuilding the company will start and expressed optimism that it would result in fruitful returns for the shareholders.

Corporate Affairs Manager of the company, Mr Malachy Ndubuzor, expressed joy that the meeting was successful.

“The gathering of the shareholders to elect a new board of directors shows that the company can come back to reckoning,” he said.

According to him, the new change is a stepping stone towards achieving what the company is known for, which is Building Construction.

He pledged that the new Board would take the next steps towards restructuring and revitalisising the company.
