Lawyer kicks against alleged illegal detention of client
Umuahia based lawyer, Mr. Emenike Azubike has petitioned the Abia State Police Commissioner Mr. Ene Okon to investigate and punish the Divisional Police Officer for Bende LGA and one Sergeant Nduka of Uzuakoli Police Post for allegedly detaining his client, Mr. Obi Sunday since April 29, 2019.
Azubuike told The Guardian that his client did not commit the offence that would warrant his detention. His petitions dated April 18 and May 2, 2019, were titled “Re- Case of threat to life, attempted murder, abuse of Police process against Issac Onwuonye, Chiadi, Chidi and Sgt. Ogba, Nduka”.
Azubuike stated that the arrest was in connection with 26 trees his client, who is a Timber Mower bought from Edum Biri of Amuda Ozuakoli in Bende LGA of the state.
