That the NBA, a professional body of University Graduates and Law School Graduates could not conduct a credible election by electronic means for a mere 25,000 members is not just a shame for the body, it is a shame for Nigeria and for Africa. Last time I checked, you cannot be a Barrister without being a Law Graduate. So the most populous African Country with so much potentials, where Hundreds of Thousands of Secondary School Students go on-line to register for public exams and register for university admission has a professional body that cannot conduct a credible election on-line in 2016? To make matters worse, this is the same professional body that went into disarray in Port Harcourt in 1994 at a similar event. As if that is not bad enough the lawyers that represent politicians and other parties in court in various legal matters are members of this same NBA. What moral right do we have to condemn politicians at the drop of a coin? That Nigeria may not be able to boast of a single institution that is above board, come rain come sunshine, is a shame. Giant of Africa, in deed.
