•Free medical services on offer

The elders’ group of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria, Majlis Ansarullah has perfected arrangements for the offering of free medical services to Nigerians from today till Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Ogbese, Ikere –Ekiti in Ekiti State. The offering is part of the 41st Annual National Ijtema (Convention) of the Islamic group, which also opens today at Ekiti State Government College, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The medical camp will involve medical check/diagnosis, blood pressure test, checking of blood sugar level and visual acuity test to know those who may require the use of eye glasses. Free drugs and free eye glasses would be given to the needy patients after proper examination by the team medical personnel.

The theme of this year’s convention is Real Global Reformation and Revolution – The Islamic Prescription.

Other features of the convention are educative lectures by erudite Islamic scholars, Quranic reading/recitation competition, Speech and Quizz contest etc. Sporting activities like athletics, table tennis, power-pull, ‎walking and concentrations race will also come up during the 3-day programme. Special Tahajud prayers for the various governments and people of Nigeria will also form an important aspect of the conference.

… African channel of MTA debuts

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has launched the African channel of its global television satellite station, Muslim Television Ahmadiyya international in London.
The studio based in London with satellite studios in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone will broadcast, 24 hours news and programmes on Islam, Africa’s developments and global issues based on Islamic principles as already been done on MTA international network.

The launch was performed by the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V, flanked by the Managing Director, MTA International, Munir Shams and other top management staff of MTA, to the admiration of all.

Millions of Muslims across the world especially Africa stay tuned to watch the birth of a new dawn in international religious broadcast reaching all the corners of the world as prophesied by the founder of the group, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad over 100 years ago that “Allah shall spread the message of Islam across the world.” The launch last Monday on August 1, 2016 appeared to be the fulfillment of that prophesy.

The Coordinator MTA AFRICA Project, Umar Shafe was full of excitement while carrying out directives via whatshap to other Coordinators across Africa.

Qasim Akinreti, Coordinator MTA International Nigeria was also around to feel the momentum of the ground breaking and historical event in the contributions of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to the peaceful propagation of Islam.

To accentuate the uniqueness of the launch, the UK Jalsa 2016 Annual Islamic conference of Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, UK will be televised live via the African channel of MTA as arrangements have been concluded with MITV and TVC to rebroadcast the event from London.

Seven Nigerian journalists from the print, electronic and online media are scheduled to cover the events live in London.

Leader of the media team, Qasim Akinreti who is also Assistant Director, News, Voice of Nigeria will  coordinate media activities with the support of foreign desk of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
The Head of the delegation Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Nigeria, Dr. Mashuud Fasola has expressed satisfaction on the preparation for the coverage of the London Jalsa.

Modalities have also been perfected to ensure seamless live broadcast of the events from London to Nigerian homes throughout the duration of the yearly convention from August 12 to 14, 2016.
