The Federal Government and stakeholders in the education sector have been advised to prepare for the nation’s development by making education a priority.

Chairman, Reckitt Benckiser Nigeria Limited, Olu Falomo, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Ed-John Institute, Dr Osaren Emokpae, and others, made the call at the 2023 yearly lecture of the Ed-John Institute of Management and Technology, Philips School of Futurology, Security and Leadership Research in Lagos.

Falomo, who was chairman of the event, themed: ‘Future in Focus,’ said it is imperative for Nigeria to prepare for the future by embracing technology and making education the bedrock of its development agenda.

Emokpae, who is also the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Ed-John Institute, said it is imperative for the government to prepare the youths for the future by investing in education.

He said: “Education has to do with renewing the mind because the speed at which the world is moving is so alarming that many people may not be able to catch up. It has to do with skills that would make an average youth live a fulfilled life in this world of technology.

“Every successful government in the world plays a key role in driving the future in terms of policy and ideas with a view to making the nation blend with modern technology.”

Emokpae said the institute is an accredited school by the Federal Government and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to run courses and programmes in management and technology.

Chairman, Governing Council, of the institute, Dr. Uyi Uwadiae, said the time for Nigeria to rise and prepare for the future is now.
