Netherlands announces media scholarship, calls for application

Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education (Nuffic) Global Development is offering scholarships to media makers in restrictive settings who use media for social change

Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education (Nuffic) Global Development is offering scholarships to media makers in restrictive settings who use media for social change and create social impact. The scholarship is available in 53 countries including Nigeria.

Tagged, The Nuffic Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP), the scholarship covers the cost of living, course fees, visa, travel, and insurance.

Courses on offer include Media Campaigns for Social Change and Advocacy, Digital Media to Counter Disinformation and Hate Speech, and Data and Investigative Journalism. All the courses start in January 2023.

Documents required to include, a copy of a valid passport, that will still be valid at least three months after the submission date of the registration form; an employer’s Statement; government Statement (if applicable) in which the government expresses its support.

Nuffic is partnering with RNTC. RNTC was established over 50 years ago, precisely in 1968 as a joint initiative of RNW Media (formerly Radio Netherlands Worldwide) and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. RNTC gained expertise in delivering accredited courses, and in the role, media can play in society, especially in the developing world and countries in transition.
