The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on the appointment of two journalists, Dapo Falade and Olayinka Oladoyinbo, as Senior Special Assistants on Information and Orientation.

The council described the appointments as recognition of the experience, professionalism and dedication of the two journalists to the media industry and public communication.

In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Akeem Abas, and Secretary, Temidayo Adu, the NUJ said Falade and Oladoyinbo had distinguished themselves through years of service to the journalism profession and contributions to society.

The council expressed confidence that their wealth of experience in media practice and public communication would be valuable in their new assignments.

It noted that the appointments underscored the importance of engaging professionals with strong communication backgrounds in public service, particularly at a time when effective information management, accountability and constructive engagement with citizens remained essential to governance.

The NUJ urged the appointees to bring the commitment, integrity and professionalism that had characterised their careers to their new roles.

It also urged them to use their positions to promote effective communication and strengthen the relationship between the state government and the people.

The council thanked Makinde for appointing journalists into his administration, describing the gesture as an acknowledgement of the contributions of media professionals to governance and societal development.

It assured the governor of the goodwill and support of members of the journalism profession in the state.
