Murdock, others arrive for The Spirit Life Conference
ALL is now set for The Spirit Life Conference, a Christian meeting featuring leading Christian ministers from around the world, including American preacher, Mike Murdock, organisers of the event, The House on the Rock Church, has said.
The event, which is billed to kick-off on Wednesday, 23 to Sunday, 27 September 2015, the Church says, is a concerted effort to redefined spirituality in line with scriptural wisdom and equip Christians with a new mind-set to confront life’s trails.
It is often said that Nigerians are too religious, seeking miracles and prophecies indiscriminately, out of every life situation — from simple headaches to collapsing government infrastructure. For some, the craze for God, the need for divine intimacy, trumps all other endeavour, or should spill over; for others, spirituality ends at the threshold of the church cathedral. But the conference is expected to redefine thinking on Christian spirituality.
The host and founder of the House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, would lead ministers from around the world, including Murdock of The Wisdom Centre, USA; Bishop David Oyedepo of The Living Faith Church, Nigeria and Bishop John Francis of Ruach Ministries London, in a 5-day meeting that would prepare participants for the popular night of praise, The Experience.
Other guests are former Senator and author from United States of America (USA), Dr. Cindy Trim and Zimbabwean, Bishop Tudor Bismark of Jabula New Life Ministries.
Themed The Next Level, the organisers say the conference was inspired by the scripture, Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not remember the former things; neither considers the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth….”
Renowned for its love of music, the House on the Rock Church would also add a spice of praise and worship sessions during the conference with various gospel acts including Micah Stampley, Sonnie Badu, Nathaniel Bassey and the Lagos Metropolitan Gospel Choir (LMGC).
Speaking in an interview with the Guardian, Adefarasin said that the real church is contributing to nation building and although it may not be easy to identify, the Bible says that ‘By their Fruits, we shall know them,’ stressing that spirituality was paramount in the affairs of men.

My very high level of respect just dropped for Pastor Paul Adefarasin! He is the wonderful voice of God in the Old Testament The Bible Experience CD (The Bible on CD). Why is he associating with mammon thirsty, materialistic preacher Mike Murdock?
Mike Mud uh Murdock makes his rounds promising poor church folks and other desperate people if they sow a seed of a thousand dollars to him and the ministries he promotes that God will give them a big return on their money. I’m NOT against giving just the method and gimmicks used to collect money!
Various Prosperity teachers in the church world seem to try to reduce God to a Retailer promising a truck load of goods. Only difference is when Retailers advertise their merchandise for your money you get the merchandise. These merchandizers like Mike Murdock using God to sell a promise of wealth don’t give out anything but a promise of more cash if you give cash, as if God can’t bless people for free! Fraud in advertising is the law of the land except if it is a religious leader? Shameful, very!
We will review and take appropriate action.
