NUC approves law programme for Caleb varsity
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given approval to Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State, to run a full-time Law programme.
This was contained in a letter dated February 10, 2021 and signed by the Director of Academic Planning of the accreditation agency, Dr. N.B. Saliu, on behalf of NUC’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed.
In the letter released by the university’s founder, Dr. Ola Adebogun, the commission approved that the programme be run at the Magodo campus of the institution with effect from 2020/2021 academic session.
The NUC, however, stated that the Law programme should not be run on a part-time basis.
“The programme shall bear only the approved titles and nomenclature and any change will require approval of the commission.”
An elated Adebogun disclosed that the huge infrastructural development and quality of lecturers at the College of Law won the university the NUC’s approval.
The institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, said the approval is a continuation of the harvest of good news in the university, and expressed appreciation to NUC for the gesture.
