NULASS decries non-payment of bursary by Lagos State government

President, National Union of Lagos State Students (NULASS), Basirat Okoya, has appealed to Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to come to the aid of the students and fulfill its obligations in the area of bursary and scholarships.

Okoya, in a chat with The Guardian, said for about two years now, there have been series of reports of students dropping out of school, some having extra years because of lack of tuition.

The immediate past and present administration, she alleged have deviated from the norms, as they have failed to pay bursary and scholarships to Lagos indigenes as at when due.

She said the national body of NULASS had written series of letters appealing to government to pay bursaries and scholarships to undergraduates.
