OMD gets accolades at Cannes Festival

Global leading media buying agency, OMD, proved to be an indomitable force as the company garnered more awards than any other agency network in its category at the recent 2016 Young Lions Media global competition held in Cannes, France. The agency clinched 63 medals across many different categories in the competition.

OMD CEO Worldwide, Mainardo de Nardis, said the agency won three grand prix, nine gold, 16 silver and a staggering 35 bronze medals. The CEO said, “OMD has again without doubt stolen a march on its competitors at one of the most prestigious creative competitions in the industry”.

The competition affords the next generation of industry leaders the opportunity to prove themselves by creating campaigns during the Festival week, where more than 400 contestants from around the globe compete in seven categories, ranging from PR to Media, Cyber, Design, Print, Film, Marketers.

According to de Nardis, OMD’s accolades were awarded for work across a broad spectrum of client categories – including automotive, CPG, financial services, media, retail, sports goods and technology – by OMD agencies across the globe.

Apart from being the most awarded media agency in the Media category, he said OMD also topped the rankings in Digital Craft, Creative Effectiveness, Cyber, Integrated, Film, Film Craft and Health & Wellness categories.
