Onyewonsa celebrates Delta State Commissioner, Tilije at 67

A prominent Lagos-based media entrepreneur and convener of the Nigeria First platform, Sunday Onyewonsa, has celebrated the 67th birthday of Delta State Commissioner for Finance, Okenmor Fidelis Tilije, with glowing tributes that extol the political stalwart as “the best nature can give to a people in a generation.”

In a heartfelt congratulatory message on Wednesday, Onyewonsa praised the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain as a man of extraordinary grace and compassion, whose career in both the private and public sectors has left an indelible mark on the lives of many, particularly in the Ndokwa nation of Delta State.

“Sir Tilije is a product of grace. His strong shoulders have served as springboards for the manifestation of greatness in others. He is a superstar who leaves indelible marks wherever he goes,” Onyewonsa said.

Onyewonsa, who described Tilije as a great brother, trusted friend, and worthy leader, lauded his transition from a successful banking career into politics as transformative, particularly for the people of Ndokwa.

He said Tilije has consistently raised the bar for quality representation, combining integrity with a rare passion for public service.

“Sixty-seven years ago, the Heavens decided to bless the people of Ndokwa nation with a colossus, a beacon of hope and a treasure of immeasurable value. Lke Rockefeller, he spends even out of none and finds joy in putting a smile on the faces of all who come across him,” Onyewonsa remarked.

The media executive also recounted a personal moment that highlighted Tilije’s selflessness.

He recalled a life-threatening car accident he experienced during the 2007 National Assembly elections, and how Tilije, despite being from the opposition party at the time, swiftly organized a rescue operation without hesitation.

Onyewonsa further highlighted Tilije’s deep Catholic faith, strong moral compass, and relentless drive to demystify poverty through hard work and loyalty to the Nigerian state.

“Like or hate him, Sir Tilije is the best nature can give in a generation. He represents the heart and soul of the downtrodden, always touching humanity positively and leaving joy in his wake,” he emphasised.

Concluding his tribute, Onyewonsa offered blessings and warm wishes to the celebrant, praying for long life, good health, and continued prosperity.
